QPCA’s COVID-19 Response

Queen of Peace Catholic Academy successfully launched their interactive Distance Learning Platform to all students, PreK – 8th grade, on March 17, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 crisis.  QPCA would like to thank ALL parents, students, teachers, faculty, and administrators for working together to make this happen so quickly and effectively.

QPCA continues to work closely with the CDC, the Florida Department of Education, the Alachua County School Board, the Diocese of St. Augustine, and Queen of Peace Catholic Community to ensure that ALL students receive the full grade-level curriculum through daily live instruction whether in-person, 2-way digital video, or a hybrid teaching method.

Hello Saints,

In an effort to keep everyone safe on our campus, we are asking that all students wear a mask to school.  There will be many opportunities throughout the school day for our students to remove their masks, but they will be required during transitions and during times that social distancing will not be possible. Masks will not be required while enjoying outdoor activities.

Masks should cover both the nose and mouth with a comfortable material.  We kindly ask that vented masks be left at home as they are not approved by the CDC as a way to reduce the spread of COVID.

Attached you will find some helpful flyers for preparing young students to wear a mask to school.  In addition, Mrs. Patton has recorded two stories for our students as they prepare to join their friends on campus. Please be sure to share these stories with your child as many times as they would like.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Vassou (tcvassou@qopacademy.org), Mrs. Patton (ecpatton@qopacademy.org), or Nurse Crescioni (decrescioni@qopacademy.org).

We look forward to an absolutely wonderful year!  Go Saints!

Instructional Continuity Plan

In the event of school closure, due to an emergency or weather situation, Queen of Peace Catholic Academy will make every effort to ensure that the educational opportunities will continue for our students while away from school.

An Instructional Continuity Plan (ICP) has been created to ensure that Queen of Peace Catholic Academy students will have access to high-quality learning opportunities at home. This plan was developed with the intention of reducing interruption in learning for our students. The ICP incorporates alternative print and online assignments to provide instructional experiences during a school closure.
