BOY SCOUTS

A national organization to serve the youth of our Parish Community from the 1st through 12th Grades. Cub Scouts (1st through 5th) are co-sponsored by Queen of Peace and Lawton Chiles Elementary. Meetings are held at various locations. The Boy Scout Troop (6th through 12th) meets most Monday evenings at Queen of Peace from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Troop activities and meetings focus on teaching the boys how to run the troop, earn merit badges, plan camping trips, and implement service projects. Those serving with Boy Scouts are fingerprinted and have a background check. Time commitment varies with activity involvement.

A national organization, Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential, develop values, relate to others, and contribute to society. In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Girl Scouts is open to girls in Kindergarten to 12th grade. Meeting times and locations vary according to age-specific groups.

The Beginner Tennis Clinics are a great introduction to the game of tennis designed to improve all basic skills, hand eye coordination, proper footwork, balance and concentration in an exciting play format using specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to the kids and their size. 

The Intermediate Tennis Clinics are designed for players with more experience. In these sessions, students will learn all basic shots(forehand, backhand, volleys, serves) as well as singles and doubles through match-like drills. Players will focus on coordinating movement and balance, hitting with purpose and direction, and improving basic fundamental skills.

Monday & Thursday  3:30pm – 4:30pm  (tennis court next to Perry Family Gym)

Offering two sessions:

Mondays: Sept. 12, 19, 26, Oct. 3 (no tennis Oct. 10), 17, 24, Nov. 1, 7

Thursdays:  Sept. 15, 22, 29, Oct. 6 (no tennis Oct. 13), 20, 27, Nov. 3, 10

Cost: $98 for 1 session (8 classes)      Payments due in full by the first class.

MusiCOOL Kids’ Drama offers two fabulous musical plays a year for children of all ages, one in the fall and one in the spring. There are appropriately written parts for each child based on his or her wishes, abilities and age level. The emphasis is on having FUN while learning. Each musical play includes acting, singing and dancing! Some past musicals that have been performed are “Willy Wonka”, “Peter Pan”, “Jungle Book”, “Cinderella” and “Annie”.
