To ensure the success of all our students, Queen of Peace Catholic Academy has a Student Support Team composed of Administration and Learning Resource teachers. The two-pronged approach to serving students' academic needs involves providing support for classroom teachers as well as working with students individually or in small groups to address specific needs. In serving the needs of individual students, we place a priority on home/school communication so that parents/caregivers can advocate for their children and receive the support they need.
Monitoring student progress is done throughout the year using a variety of computer-based and traditional screenings in the classroom, teacher observation, and targeted diagnostic assessments. The Learning Resource team provides literacy and math support by pushing into classrooms to support students who need additional support with the regular curriculum, while also providing targeted instruction designed for students in need of more intensive support. It is our mission to work with teachers, parents and other professionals to give all students the tools for success.
