Coach Ryan "Silky" Brown has been teaching physical education for 13 years, and this will be his 7th year at QPCA. He and his wife Brittany have two children, a son named Jeb, 6, who is a 1st grader at QPCA, and a daughter named Emily, 3, who currently attends Abiding Savior. Coach Brown is very involved in the Gainesville baseball community, and has coached in various positions at the middle school/high school level over the last 15 years. In fact, Coach Brown was recently named the new head baseball coach at Saint Francis Catholic Academy. Prior to being named head coach at SFCA, Brown founded the baseball program at QPCA, and served as the Saints head coach for 5 years. At SFCA, Coach Brown will be reuniting with many of his former Saints baseball players. Coach Brown's hobbies include hunting, fishing, watching Gator sports, and spending time with family and friends. Another fun fact about Coach Brown, is that he is an avid Disc Golfer, and competes in many tournaments each year throughout the Florida amateur Disc Golf circuit. When asked about his current status as an amateur, Coach Brown responded with "I'm thinking about turning pro in a couple of years when I turn 40. The PDGA has a separate division for players that are 40 & over, and I think I have a better shot at winning a tournament in that division. Go Saints."
