Queen of Peace Catholic Academy - Safe Environment Clearance Process
The Diocese of St. Augustine requires that all campus visitors and volunteers complete the Safe Environment clearance process. The Diocese manages volunteer clearance through VIRTUS - a program and service through the National Catholic Risk Retention Group.
Visitors and volunteers include: any parent, grandparent, family member, coach, or friend of a student who would like to spend any part of the day on the Queen of Peace Catholic Academy campus or accompany Academy students off-campus on behalf of the Academy for educational or athletic purposes. This includes bringing in birthday treats, sharing lunchtime with your child, volunteering as a chaperone for an off-campus fieldtrip, coaching a Queen of Peace Catholic Academy team or league team associated with Queen of Peace Catholic Academy.
In order to fulfill all of the requirements for volunteer clearance, you will need to:- create or update a VIRTUS account
- submit your fingerprints through the fieldprintflorida system
- complete a Protecting God's Children class
- electronically sign 3 required documents found in your VIRTUS profile: Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults, Standards for Lay Employees & Volunteers, VECHS Waiver Agreement & Statement
For New Volunteers:
Please review the new users guide below for instructions on establishing a VIRTUS account, scheduling a fingerprint appointment and confirming a space in a Protecting God’s Children class. You do not have to wait to complete the class to have your fingerprints completed. Volunteer fingerprints are valid for 5 years and as of this publication, the Protecting God's Children class is a one-time only requirement.

Please email [email protected] once you have established your VIRTUS account, have submitted your fingerprints through fieldprintflorida and have registered for a Protecting God's Children class so that we can monitor your clearance status. We will communicate with you once your clearance is confirmed. You can also monitor your status by reviewing your VIRTUS portal.
For Volunteers who need to renew fingerprints
The attached instruction guide will take you through the steps to update your existing VIRTUS account and volunteer profile, and schedule a fingerprint appointment at a fieldprintflorida location. If you have previously taken a Diocese of St. Augustine Protecting God's Children class, a VIRTUS account was established at that time (even if it was several years ago). Please do not create a new account. You will need to contact VIRTUS directly, at the number provided on the instruction guide to reset your VIRTUS login credentials. As of this publication, the Protecting God's Children class is a one-time only requirement.

Volunteering as a QPCA Athletic Coach
If you are volunteering to coach students for a QPCA athletic team, please contact The Academy office to confirm the diocesan fingerprint code before scheduling a fingerprint appointment.
